PeppermintProfile information
Safety Center
PeppermintProfile is not an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, move to a safe location and contact local emergency services first. Report the matter to PeppermintProfile afterward so appropriate platform action can also be considered.
Use this page for practical steps before, during, or after a concerning interaction. Account access, reporting, product guidance, and policy documents remain organized in their own categories.
Before you interact
Take a moment to review the people, businesses, products, services, and terms involved before committing to an interaction or transaction.
- Review the profile, business, listing, availability, price, terms, location, and relevant history.
- Share only the information reasonably needed for the interaction. Never share passwords, security codes, full payment credentials, or account-recovery information.
- Confirm the price, payment method, delivery or pickup arrangements, timing, cancellation terms, and return conditions before committing.
- For pickups, deliveries, appointments, or meetings, confirm the people, location, and timing involved. End the interaction if circumstances materially change or feel unsafe.
Recognize warning signs
Pause and review the situation when someone:
- pressures you to act immediately;
- asks for passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary personal information;
- requests an unusual payment method;
- sends unexpected links or files;
- changes important transaction details without a clear reason;
- makes an offer that appears intentionally misleading or unrealistic; or
- impersonates PeppermintProfile, another member, or a legitimate business.
If something feels wrong
Stop before sending money, releasing an item, providing a service, opening an unfamiliar link, or sharing additional information. Review the profile, listing, messages, and transaction details for inconsistencies. Do not continue merely because someone claims the matter is urgent.
End the interaction or leave if doing so is safer. For suspected account access or phishing, use Account Security under Security. For an unsafe product, use Product Safety under Safety. To submit a platform report, use Report a Concern under Support.
Preserve useful evidence
When it is safe to do so, keep information that can help explain what happened:
- the profile, business, listing, or account name and URL;
- relevant messages, dates, and times;
- order, transaction, payment, pickup, shipping, or delivery details;
- photos or video showing the item, packaging, condition, damage, or safety issue; and
- a brief record of actions already taken.
Do not confront someone, continue an unsafe interaction, or place yourself in danger solely to collect evidence.
How reports are evaluated
Making a report does not automatically prove wrongdoing. Reports are reviewed under the applicable rules and available evidence. Context, severity, account and transaction history, and other relevant information may be considered.
Submit a report only when you honestly believe content or conduct is a problem. Knowingly false or retaliatory reports are prohibited.
