Safety Guidelines
PeppermintProfile connects real people with businesses, services, events, and sellers. Most interactions are straightforward, but everyone should remain aware of unusual requests, pressure, and behavior that does not feel right.
Be cautious when someone:
- pressures you to act immediately;
- asks for passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary personal information;
- requests an unusual payment method;
- sends unexpected links or files;
- changes important transaction details without a clear reason;
- makes an offer that appears intentionally misleading or unrealistic; or
- impersonates PeppermintProfile, another member, or a legitimate business.
Stop the interaction and report it when you suspect fraud, theft, impersonation, or manipulation.
Share only the information reasonably needed to complete an interaction or transaction. Never share passwords, security codes, full payment credentials, or account-recovery information.
PeppermintProfile representatives will not ask for your password or one-time security code.
You may complete a transaction outside PeppermintProfile only when both people freely agree. No one may pressure or penalize another person for choosing to keep communication or payment on the platform.
PeppermintProfile protections apply only to eligible transactions completed through PeppermintProfile. Support may be limited when payment or communication is moved elsewhere.
In-person arrangements are optional and require mutual agreement. Confirm the relevant details before meeting or providing access to a location.
Use reasonable judgment about the location, timing, people involved, and information being shared. Leave or end the interaction if circumstances materially change or feel unsafe. No one may pressure another person into an in-person arrangement.
Pause before sending money, releasing an item, providing a service, opening an unfamiliar link, or sharing additional information. Review the profile, listing, messages, and transaction details for inconsistencies.
Do not continue merely because another person claims the matter is urgent. A legitimate transaction should withstand reasonable questions and verification.
Report suspected scams, threats, harassment, impersonation, unsafe conduct, or attempts to misuse PeppermintProfile. Include relevant messages, transaction details, images, and other available evidence.
Making a report does not automatically prove wrongdoing. Reports are reviewed under the applicable rules and available evidence. Knowingly false or retaliatory reports are prohibited.
PeppermintProfile is not an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Report the matter to PeppermintProfile afterward so appropriate platform action can also be considered.
